5Solid alternative to Rubicon Rails
By NurseBuck
I wanted to cover the pinch seam on my 2013 Jeep JK Wrangler Sport. I started looking for a set of Rubicon Rails and found these Smittybilt Classic Rock Rails for a much better price. PROS: No plastic end cap. Has a nice solid steel end. These are heavy weight. In fact, they weigh more than my Ace Engineering Sliders. CONS: They are made in China so the quality assurance is tricky. My passenger side rail was just a bit off being straight. You really couldn't tell unless you are anal, like me:) Still, for the money these can't be beat. I highly recommend them. Best of all, they cover my pinch seam and I can use them with my Ace Engineering Rock Sliders. They fit very well together. Just the look I wanted. You can't go wrong.

5Solid, Economical Protection!
By Twain Steinbeck
I've had in mind to cover / protect the pinch welds on my '09 Wrangler 2 door since I first saw the thing, and the price point on these Smittybilt rails was very attractive. While there are benefits to tube type 'nerf bar' rocker protectors, I just couldn't justify spending 2-3x as much, and when I hefted a tube rocker guard in a local shop I was glad I'd passed on the considerable extra weight.

The shipping weight should have given me a clue - these things are solid, welded steel. No plastic end caps or light gauge metal. Could you jack your Jeep up on it? They're stout enough, but they look too good and there are certainly better points for that.

I was a bit confused from the picture on how they would fasten to the vehicle; I hope the pix I included help you out in your decision. All the hardware (nuts, clipnuts and washers) is provided, and is decent enough quality.

Installation was a snap, with no tab bending or drilling described by o ther users elsewhere. If you like the look, go for it!

5Great product
By Dave
I purchased these for my 2012 JK two door and they went on really easily. My only complaint/suggestion is the washers that came with the kit were a smaller diameter than the slot in the mounting rail. I just purchased new washers and completed the install.
